General rule of thumb in life: you can’t call kids “hot.” I don’t care if she’s 17 and looks like Kate Upton or he’s 14 and built like The Rock except 5’5”, at no point in time is it appropriate to refer to someone under 18 as attractive unless you’re using words like “cute” and “adorable.” And yes, I know – 17 is pretty close to 18, but god forbid you have to wait one whole year to be able to blurt out “SHE’S HOT” in a public forum. In the year 2017 you have to be at least 18 in order to be considered hot, period. End of story.
So when 27-year-old Texas model Ali Michael posted an Instagram of Finn Wolfhard telling him to “hit her up” in four years, it’s understandable that some people got pissed.
Well, understandable in terms of 2017 – in reality the only people who should be annoyed are Finn and his family. Why Becky Jo Nobody from Toledo, Ohio gives a fuck is beyond me. Some people lead sad lives and need to be in constant outrage to get through their week, and today’s source just happened to be this stupid interaction on the Internet:
Ali Michael is literally 27 this whole joking abt children hitting puberty and sexualizing them as a way to invoke a funny rhetoric is ??????????

Because people were calling for this poor girl to be decapitated over a stupid joke, Ali had to go and issue an apology…
…and then publish a statement in Teen Vogue on top of it:
On October 30th, I posted an Instagram Story with a photo of Finn Wolfhard who plays “Mike” in Stranger Things asking him to, “call me in four years.”
The general nature of my social media platforms is often one of humour, sarcasm and playful self-deprecation. I often quote, post and publicly respond to music videos, films, documentaries and television shows in a frank and candid manner.
The nature of my posts in response to television and media are always tongue-in-cheek and never intended to mislead or upset anyone. In the past, I have asked fictitious characters of films to call me (namely Edward Scissorhands and Simba from the Lion King).
In this instance, it has become clear to me that asking a character ‘to call in four years’ and inappropriately tagging the underage actor who plays the character (Mike) was upsetting, suggestive and concerning for my audience.
It was never my intention (nor has it ever been) to sexualise a minor in any way shape or form. To those I offended or misled, I apologise for a post made in haste and lacking in sensitivity, particularly considering the landscape of the present culture.’
As for Finn’s thoughts, the whole thing was “gross” and “weird”:

Guess we know for certain Ali won’t be getting that call after all.
